Welcome to Versus!
Versus is a community where people come together to vote on comparisons and share their opinions. These Community Guidelines help ensure Versus remains a positive, respectful, and engaging space for everyone.
By using Versus, you agree to follow these guidelines.
1. Core Principles
Be Respectful
- Treat all community members with respect and courtesy
- Respect differing opinions and preferences
- Disagree constructively without personal attacks
- Consider the diverse backgrounds and perspectives in our community
Be Authentic
- Use your real identity or a consistent username
- Don't impersonate others or create fake accounts
- Take responsibility for your votes and submissions
- Be honest in your engagement with the community
Be Positive
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment
- Encourage healthy debate and discussion
- Support quality contributions from other users
- Help new members understand how the App works
2. Voting Guidelines
Fair Voting
✅ DO:
- Vote based on your genuine preference or opinion
- Take time to consider both options before voting
- Vote once per comparison
- Change your vote if you change your mind (where allowed)
❌ DON'T:
- Use bots, scripts, or automation to vote
- Create multiple accounts to vote multiple times
- Coordinate with others to manipulate voting results
- Vote randomly without considering the options
Voting Integrity
- Your vote matters—make it count!
- Vote totals are public; who voted for what is not
- Gaming the leaderboard through vote manipulation will result in account suspension
- Win counts reflect voting with the majority (>50%) for entertainment purposes only
3. Suggestion Submission Guidelines
What Makes a Great Suggestion
✅ Good Suggestions:
- Clear, concise comparison titles (e.g., "Coffee vs Tea," "Summer vs Winter")
- Balanced options with no obvious bias
- Topics that are interesting, relatable, or thought-provoking
- Appropriate for a general audience
- Original ideas not already in the system
❌ Poor Suggestions:
- Offensive, inappropriate, or sensitive topics
- Comparisons promoting hate, violence, or discrimination
- Personal attacks or callouts of specific individuals
- Spam, advertisements, or promotional content
- Duplicate or near-duplicate comparisons
- Unintelligible or nonsensical comparisons
Submission Process
- Check for duplicates before submitting a new comparison
- Use clear titles for both sides (e.g., "Side A" vs "Side B")
- Wait for admin approval before your suggestion appears publicly
- Accept feedback if your suggestion is rejected
- Learn and improve from rejected submissions
Categories
- Choose the most appropriate category for your comparison
- Use "Other" only when no specific category fits
- Avoid cross-posting the same comparison to multiple categories
4. Prohibited Content
Never Post or Submit:
Illegal Content
- Content that breaks the law where you live or in South Africa
- Copyright or trademark infringement
- Stolen or leaked private information
- Illegal goods, services, or activities

Misleading Content
- Misinformation or deliberately false information
- Impersonation of others (individuals, brands, organizations)
- Phishing, scams, or fraudulent schemes
- Malware, viruses, or malicious links
Spam and Manipulation
- Repetitive, unsolicited, or bulk submissions
- Vote manipulation or coordinated inauthentic behavior
- Fake engagement or artificial inflation of statistics
- Commercial spam or unauthorized advertising
Privacy Violations
- Sharing someone's personal information without consent (doxxing)
- Private conversations, images, or videos shared without permission
- Invasion of privacy or stalking behavior
5. Leaderboard Conduct
Participation
- Leaderboards are for fun and friendly competition
- Rankings are based on votes cast, suggestions submitted, and voting accuracy (wins)
- Only users with set usernames appear on public leaderboards
- Anonymous/guest users are excluded from rankings
Fair Play
✅ DO:
- Participate genuinely and consistently
- Celebrate your achievements and milestones
- Congratulate top-ranked users
- Use the leaderboard as motivation to engage
❌ DON'T:
- Manipulate votes or stats to climb rankings artificially
- Create multiple accounts to boost your position
- Harass or belittle users based on their leaderboard rank
- Take leaderboard rankings too seriously—it's meant to be fun!
Consequences of Cheating
- Vote invalidation
- Leaderboard removal
- Statistics reset
- Account suspension or permanent ban
6. Username and Profile Guidelines
Username Requirements
- Must not impersonate real people, brands, or entities
- Must not contain offensive, hateful, or inappropriate language
- Must not include personal information (phone numbers, addresses, etc.)
- Should be appropriate for all ages
- One username per user (no frequent changes to avoid detection)
Profile Information
- Avatars are generated in the App; choose one that is not offensive
- Display names should follow username guidelines
- Email addresses are never displayed publicly
7. Respectful Interactions
While Versus focuses on voting rather than direct messaging, interactions still occur through shared participation:
Be Considerate
- Understand that people have different tastes and opinions
- Don't take voting results personally
- Remember that diversity of opinion makes the App interesting
- If you see something offensive, report it rather than engaging
No Harassment
- Don't target specific users with offensive suggestions
- Don't create comparisons designed to mock or belittle others
- Don't use the App to settle personal disputes
- Respect the privacy and dignity of all users
8. Reporting Violations
How to Report
If you encounter content or behavior that violates these guidelines:
- In the App
- Use Report in a comparison's menu
- By email (comments, usernames, suggestions or anything else)
- Send details to: support@raedaconlabs.com
- Include: username, comparison title, description of violation
- Emergency Situations
- For immediate safety concerns or illegal activity, contact local authorities first
- Then email us at support@raedaconlabs.com with "Urgent" in the subject
What to Include
- Specific details about the violation
- Username of the violator (if applicable)
- Screenshots or evidence (if available)
- Link or title of the comparison in question
False Reports
- Do not abuse the reporting system
- False or malicious reports may result in action against your account
- Reporting is for genuine violations, not disagreements
9. Enforcement Actions
Blocked Content and Warnings
- Text you submit (comments, suggestions, usernames, categories) is checked automatically
- Text that breaks these guidelines is blocked, recorded, and counts as a violation
- You'll see a warning in the App explaining why
Content Removal
- Violating submissions will be rejected or removed
Temporary Suspension
- Repeated violations automatically suspend you from creating content
- Duration depends on the number and severity of violations (24 hours, 7 days or 30 days)
- The App shows the reason and when the suspension ends
Permanent Ban
- Severe violations or repeated offenses result in permanent account termination
- Examples: child endangerment, serious harassment, persistent rule-breaking
- A ban can also apply to the device used
- Bans are generally not reversible
Appeals
- If you believe an action was taken in error, you may appeal
- Use Submit Appeal on the notice in the App, or email support@raedaconlabs.com
- Include your username, the action taken, and your explanation
10. Admin Discretion
Review Process
- All submitted comparisons are reviewed by admins before going live
- Admins may reject or modify suggestions to comply with guidelines
- Decisions are final but you may resubmit improved versions
Edge Cases
- Admins have discretion in interpreting these guidelines
- Context matters—some situations are nuanced
- We strive for consistency but reserve the right to make judgment calls
- Community safety takes priority over individual expression
11. Changes to Guidelines
- We may update these guidelines as the community evolves
- Material changes will be announced through in-app notifications
- Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance
- Check back periodically for updates
